The Client Brief

In partnership with the NHS, I was tasked with identifying a particular demographic affected by loneliness and developing a service or system to help alleviate feelings of isolation within that group.

Through regular meetings and input sessions from our partners within the NHS Innovation Team, I narrowed my focus to athletes and sportspeople, a group often overlooked in conversations around loneliness.

The Research

I conducted in-person interviews with athletes and sports psychologists across various levels to better understand the causes of loneliness within this demographic.

Given the sensitivity of the topic, I incorporated an interactive element into the sessions. Using a curated set of image cards, participants responded to questions through personal interpretation, creating a more open and reflective dialogue. This approach created a more open and reflective environment, allowing conversations to unfold in a less direct and more emotionally accessible way.
